Festival of Praise 4 is currently on its busy month. After weeks of postpone, we put on high gear to makeup those lost. In fact, initial recording was done last May, overdubbing on some instruments was completed - keyboard and bass.

However, last night the vocal take was started. Six songs was completed - soprano, which recording session took almost 6 hours. Singers were great, i mean, they have done their homework, i have done very little on the recording, which is great.

Tonight, we'll be having another session. Hope to complete 5 songs and do some harmony part here and there.

* Lot of things happen the last few months but due to my capacity updating this blog is beyond myself. However, i will try my best self to update it regularly. Thanks.

May - June Update

Good day, plan to update our blog today (been awhile heh!?). Ok, alots of of good things had passed.. briefly tell you what had happened the past two months.

Jenifer Julius CD is finally out. The cover is great.. if you want to get one for yourself you can email me at pphen98 at gmail.com.
Festival of Praise 4 concert was held at Maksak Hall. The concert was great - attended around 300+ strong fans. I recorded the action - will do some overdub and editing this month (June).
Congratulation Alvin MY and Dazeree J - Happy wedding day and welcome to the club :D.
Balalang VCD - approved by Penapisan Filem already, next - apply for sijil B.
Thomas tracks given to musician already (Benz and FND).
Inanam album is about 60%.. arrangement is almost done.
DnA album is about to start - 9 songs composed.. end of June will do the arrangement.

Congrate Alvin MY

Wah.. been awhile saya tidak update our blog. However, thanks to you for visiting D(EQ) blogsite. There are lotsa thing happens this few weeks but i will highlight a few things only.

First, congratulation to Alvin MY for his EP launching at Venetian Lounge last 2 weeks. Everything went well, his performance was great, the band was great, the crowd was great too. The launching officiated by YB Masidi. Alvin, you are the man - keep up the good music.

Other updates, Jenifer Julius debut album was mixed and mastered last week. She will send it for replication one or two days from now. I will keep you update on that one.

Balalang VCD was sent for penapisan filem already. I hope it will pass the penapisan 2 or 3 weeks from now.

Transpose

The coming soon "Transpose" album is currently busy with their music arrangement in our studio. Rozer as executive producer cum arranger and composer as well as musician. This guy is totally multi-talent. This album is expected to release late March. Check this one ok.

Other update, Jenifer's album is almost done. One song left, others are ok already. The songs will take its shape maybe this week or next week. See how it goes.

Another album - Choir from Tamparuli. Their album is progressing - editing and mixing done by Apai. It will be releasing soon.

Praise and Worship team from SIB Inanam also gear up for their first album. 9 songs were recorded (guide) and arrangement will be getting into action by this week or next week.

All materials been sent to KL for printing and CD replication. After months of grueling recording, mixing and mastering - finally Balalang CD will be on your local CD shop soon. Balalang is a Dusun artist from Kota Marudu. Great with rock flavour vocal. If you wish to hear the only (maybe) the high pitch rock vox, get this one. I am sure you will be thrilled!

Alvin MY songs mixed down!

Last Friday, after few months of instense recording, finally 5 songs were mixed down. For the record, music arrangement and recording were done in 5 to 6 months. Quite happy with the result and the mixed will be mastered by wellknown sound engineer - Christopher P (Decipher).

Not sure when it will be mastered and print but it worth to get one once it done - it is super good production. It had involved quite number of good sessionists - Raymond and Moses. I think Alvin will released his so called mini album or EP late February.

Dayang Noraini

Just an update, Dayang Noraini had just completed her song "Ku tak kan pernah". The song was written by Roslee (UMS Music Lecturer). The music arrangement was done by Roslee and Apai. The other 5 songs were recorded in KL. One song "Demi Cinta" was composed and arranged by the popular song writer Manan Ngah.

I would say this mini album is done in high quality production with the best sessionist around. It is not "tangkap muat punya". For the record, Dayang Noraini was the champion of Sinaran Puteri back in those year (can't remember which year).

I highly recommend this album to the music lover! please support local artist. Sabah buleh bah!

DNA and FOP3 are released!

Bah, album DNA dan FOP3 sudah pun keluar. Album DNA atau dengan nama panjangnya Delivered and Alive mengandungi 10 lagu. Antara lagu-lagu yang ada dalam album ini ialah DNA, Kami puji syukur, Gerakan, Kasih, Center of My Heart, Dengarkanlah, Masa Depan yang Kau janjikan, My Friend, Sempurna, Ku Berlari. Boleh dikatakan semua lagu dalam album ini memang hebat2 belaka hehehe.. Band ini dianggotai oleh Wilson, Bob, Reydus (Vocalists), Peter(Keyboard), Andy (Drummer), Davy (Bassist), and Gary (Guitarist).

Festival Of Praise 3 (FOP3) juga sudah pun keluar, Genre album ini lebih kepada pujian dan penyembahan (ala-ala True Worshippers but this is local made and it's just awesome urang putih bilang). Mereka mengeluarkan DVD, VCD, dan juga CD.

Danny FM

Baru-baru ini Danny FM (DFM) dan Joy (Juara sugandoi 2009) merakam 3 lagu di DEQ. Dua lagu pertama dalam BM yang hanya dinyanyikan oleh beliau sendiri sementara lagu Dusun adalah duet. Lagu-lagu ini lebih kepada sentimental la, kira trademark c DFM sdh baini :). Anyway the songs are good. Arrangement belum buat lagi tetapi ada sudah plan macamana mau buat. Ada saya tanya dia kenapa tidak buat dalam KadazanDusun saja, dia bilang mau capture bigger market la. Bagus juga la macam tu, tapi peminat setia DFM jangan risau ada juga bah lagu KD dia tu.

DNA - Guitar session!

DNA is on track to complete their album on time. This week, FND the guitarist telah memasukkan guitar line dalam hampir semua lagu. What's good about it is, sekarang ni baru boleh nampak the fullness of the music.. ada beberapa instruments lain yang perlu diedit juga. The member (DNA) very excited about this... sa pun hehehe... jadi for those who can't wait this album keluar.. sabar sabar dulu kio.

Alvin MY also menghabiskan vokal take untuk lagu "Learning U". Waduuu... fantastic song la, bah sa saja yang boleh dengar sekarang la (sama Alvin la) sebab blm mixing lagi huhuhu.. wait till I come back from mansau-ansau. Last Wednesday kami juga merakam another demo, great clubbing song with ethnic flavour sikit2. Bah, kamurang tunggu2 la ya.

Thomas S gave me one song to arrange untuk last song dimasukkan dalam album beliau.
FOP3 it's over tetapi ada overdub here and there, ada beberapa lagi, tunggu sampai sa balik la ok :)
Another artists (Jenifer) bagi sa her song untuk dengar.. baru muzik sa dengar dari arranger yang berbakat dari kumpulan T-Street iaitu Reuben Fingerstylo. She will be in the studio mungkin bulan 8 atau 9 la.

FOP3 Concert

Wah, lama juga saya tidak update blog ni. Been busy for the last few weeks. Few projects are concurrently running... however saya ingin update semua mengenai concert FOP3 yang telah berjalan pada minggu terakhir bulan May. The concert memang best. about 700 strong crowd datang menyaksikan concert. Persembahan dimulakan dengan "countdown" diikuti dengan intro, dan lagu2 ciptaan mereka sendiri. Kira bukan peringkat kampung2 lagu la hehehe... walaupun it's praise and worship concert tapi boleh dibanggakan. Para pemuzik, penyanyi dan penari have done their best part. Walaupun there are some glitches here and there but you know la kan.. nobody's perfect bah.

Others, Alvin MY ada merekod dan sedang dalam pembikinan single beliau... tajuk lagu belum ada, maybe tajuk dia "If I" hehehe.. tapi tingu la nanti dia bilang. Next week, he'll come untuk "finish off" yang belum lagi siap.

DNA - Davy the bassist telahpun memasukkan bass untuk 4 lagu.. another 6. This Sunday afternoon dia akan datang untuk another 6 songs.

Are you ready for FOP3? You are all invited to come for the concert (sorry x free hehehe). Mereka sudah menyediakan 12 lagu untuk recording but for the concert they will perform 18 to 20 songs. This few days, they're busy preparing macam2... stage, sound reinforcement, props, practice etc. For those who excited to attend, you can come to Maskak Hall (Likas) this Saturday (30 May, 7pm). You can buy tickets at the entrance.

FOP3 - Demo live

Beberapa hari lepas, team muzik yang terlibat dalam FOP3 telah mengadakan demo live untuk team ini dapat berlatih dalam satu team.

Sekarang ini mereka ada 8 lagu sudah. Most of the their arrangement is above average. Song - quite good too, and mostly catchy juga... buleh buat kita 'move' and most of all it's praise and worship songs.

Singers pun tidak kurang hebat juga.. they're from various denominations.

For your information, the concert will be held at Dewan Maksak Likas on the 30th of this month (May). I will update you dalam beberapa hari ini.

DNA - Recording vox abis!

Delivered and Alive sudah mengabiskan recording vocal. Liou dan Wilson masuk studio hari ahad lepas sampai jam 11 malam. Walaupun ada beberapa masalah sedikit dari segi technical tapi boleh diatasi hehehe.. Anyway, mereka juga 'repair' beberapa lagu yang dirakam sebelum ini supaya lebih mantap. Andy (drummer) sedang (atau sdh) dalam perjalanan balik Sabah dari Maldives, kami rancang mo retake mengunakan drum yang lain. Bass dan gitar pun belum masuk lagi.. so harap2 sebelum bulan 8 ni siap la album DNA.. pasti best hehehe.

Joy - KENTE 2009

Good day everybody! KENTE Final 2009 will be held at KDCA (17 Apr 2009, 7pm). Penganjur http://www.kadusmusic.com bilang free masuk (inda tipu). Jangan lepas peluang ni OK. Alright, just want to highlight one contestant, her name is Joy. I had helped her to create minus 1 for several songs. She will sing 2 songs - song from Winnie Kuntip and either (Matahariku - Agnes Monica or Langit Ke 7). Mempunyai suara yang tinggi dan mantap. Personally I have not seen any the other contestants tapi for sure this final will be great.

FOP3 is on its final month of preparation, 8 songs sudah diarrange dan tinggal recording and it's going to be LIVE.

Good day everybody! bah untuk update minggu ini.. i had mixed and mastered single dari T-Street, a hiphop group from Tambunan. Kumpulan ini dianggotai oleh dua anak muda hensem FingerStylo and Kudique. Tajuk lagu adalah Show Us (some Love) (betul kaitu FingerStylo?!) hehehe..

They'll send the single to few radio stations this few days so... harap2 kita boleh dengar the song on air nanti. Bah, that's all.

XCella: Recorded 2 songs!

After sending my kids to school and wife, saya ambik Xcella untuk session recording. Oleh kerana masih pagi, we had our breakfast near Beverly Hills. After breakfast, terus pigi studio. Setup all the rigs, then we adjust the correct code for her. The tune was a bit higher for her, we lowered them few semitones.

The recording session was going well (she's a good singer). Lebih kurang 4 jam juga untuk habis kan 2 lagu that's including voicing.

Others: DNA - got a song from Liou (blm ada arrangement)
Festival Of Praise: First session (City Mall) was not going well, however we'll plan a better solution for live instrument recording.

XCella and DNA

I composed 2 songs this week :). One song given to XCella and the other "maybe" DNA. Been trying to compose few days but x idea bah then while I was in the studio, tengah2 main piano (cari ilham) then I get dia punya first phrase, then sya develop from there. XCella might be coming next monday for the recording session, will do 2 songs. So far 2 songs had been recorded, 2 songs this monday and another 6 more to go :(, well orang bilang palan2 bah.

DNA had completed 9 songs. 1 song, tune had been laid tapi x lyrics.. emailed to DNA members if anyone got a good lyric idea.. so far no feedback :).

Anyway, have a good weekend guys. See u again minggu depan.

ps: notice that this blog a bit boring without picture. will try to capture some of the action in the studio utk kamurang hehehe.

Hi everyone! nice to be back. Alright, untuk pengunjung setia D(EQ) there are few updates untuk anda. First, Danny FM telah merakam satu lagu untuk pertandingan CATS (Carta Artis Tempatan Sabah) yang diadakan pada pertengahan bulan ni. For your info, dia juga menyertai Juara Lagu Dusun (JLD) yang akan diadakan di Ranau this weekend.

Joanna Sue Henly Rampas juga sedang membuat minus one utk beberapa lagu-untuk persiapan Bintang RTM... mari kita sokong sumandak ni hehehe..

Others - I'm currently mixing TStreet (kumpulan dari Tambunan - modern music), Jason Jay is recording single (nice song).

Ahad (21 Feb 09), Wilson telah datang ke studio untuk mengabiskan 3 lagu tetapi tidak kesampaian :). Bukan kerana tidak terrer tapi ada masalah sedikit dengan melodi dan lirik lagu. So i decided to change the last song. Lagu belum lagi di tentukan but DNA is planning to make another song untuk dimasukkan ke dalam album DNA.

I been away for a week plus now (Penang -> KL) to conduct some training. Will be back again this Saturday (7 March 09). Datang2 ja, I have a recording session with Danny FM and Jennifer.

Baru2 ni, sa pigi Miri to do some 'tuition' hehe.. Sebenarnya sa pigi 'tolong' a new company called Z-Studio setting up their studio. So I was there dalam 3 hari show them something that I know (walaupun x terrer) tapi just want to share my very little knowledge to friends. So, I hope after this, there will be many albums coming out from the Miri town.

Ok, Thomas S sdh merakam 9 songs, another 3 songs mungkin yg dia mo kasi masuk. DNA already 7 songs tinggal 3 lagi (Wilson part). He (wilson) will be in the studio this Sunday(22.2.09) afternoon utk kasi abis his part.

Thomas and DNA Update

Thomas Sugara sedang giat membuat recording for his 6th album. Sudah 4 lagu yang sudah dirakam dan tinggal 6 lagi. He is planning to record all songs this month (kalo buleh la dia bilang hehehe). Masih banyak lagi yang dibuat. After this, music need to re-arrange nicely supaya setanding dengan indon (dia bilang hehehe). Then sessionist kena panggil untuk ambik take, then backing then mixing then mastering... waduhhh buleh siap ka bulan 3 ni amacam? kita tunggu dan lihat.

DNA Update. Liou sudah habiskan dia punya lagu, tadi Bob masukkan vox untuk 2 lagu. Kita plan 4 songs but x jadi sebab ada aral melintang hehehe.. anyway kami akan continue maybe tomorrow kalo everything ok. So, ada 5 lagu lagi perlu direkod, then music arrangement perlu di-touchup here and there, sebelum other musicians do their part.

Selepas ja balik dari mombo-hombo, trus sa mix and master lagu Ivye. Dua lagu yang agak rancak, sa pun kurang pasti siapa yang cipta. Anyway, the songs are catchy and radio friendly, mcm ada telefon2 gitu hahaha. You can expect something good from my work (ni masuk bakul angkat sendiri sdh ni hahahaha).

Other update, I'd mixed 7 songs untuk lagu Murut (church punya la). Penyanyi DNA (Liou) juga sudah masuk studio. 2 lagu sudah di rakam, so another 8 songs lagi. Lepas balik dari Brunei ni, turus ada recording la kalo tiada aral melintang. Manager dari Maldives pun sibuk2 sdh mengarah hahaha.. oriat la. That's all the update.

Teda update or kurang update website ni lately. Maaf seja la..hehehe. Anyway, project is still strong only I'm not physically in Sabah right now (oredi a week +). Sa tengah sukat jaraya d Hanoi. Will be back this saturday (17th January). Fully operational next week (harap2). So, those who couldn't contact me lately.. minta maaap la banyak2. She is (will be) the new pearl of the north (Kota Marudu). Why? She got the beauty, brain and talent (presumably, a complete package - at least, that's the standard rhyme we usually hear from the contest judges, and that's may downright true. Her career bloomed after participated in Idola Sabah 2005 competition. From there-on, she was not looking back. There was once, Penampang Studio pushing her group (herself, Nordawati Daud, Ruthnetta Romedius) for bigtime contract in Kuala Lumpur but it had petered out. She was been busy acting in various local telemovies and this year Anugerah Pertisa 2008, she been nominated in "Pelakon Wanita Paling Popular" category of her works in "Khabar Angin Dari Borneo".

Ivye Alexandra

Siapa tidak kenal Ivye Alexandra (Ivy) angkat tangan? Hehehehe, maybe one or two do not. Anyway, she is very popular with her tagged song "Hiti oku poingandad". Recently, her "Linumis" song by Apai (Andrew Poninting) quite popular and being played on SuriaFM and SabahVFM regularly. Singing is her first, second is her acting. Her work in Esther Esthera has been nominated in "Pelakon Wanita Paling Popular". However she also been nominated in two other categories which are "Artis Popular" and "Penyanyi Wanita Paling Popular".

She had been in and out of studio doing her second album for the past months. D(EQ) is honoured to work with her. Apai is handling this project and I'm just helping here and there (drum programming, mixing and mastering). When will it be released? Will ask Ivye for answer. I'll keep you guys informed :)

Two Songs Downed!

I have completed two Dusun songs for "JKR". The first song called Limbata' (leech) it is a Sumayau (Dusun Traditional Dancing) tempo and another is fusion (no name at the moment, I just called it Song3.. :)). Anyway, I hope I can complete the arrangement because they want it ASAP. Please come again for more update, thanks.

Arnold Wences and Rachel (MyStarz LG)

Song arrangement for 'Tak Mungkin Lagi' is already 60% complete. Rachel Wesley will come to the studio soon to record her voice. She is the talent from Tamparuli and was in MyStarz LG last year. What to expect from her? Smooth voice, great talent, and sweet. You should have had enough of her in MyStar's concert, if that's right? I'll post more of her when our session is current.

This is Arnold Wences Linus , and he is releasing his album very soon. It's really an honour for us to arrange "Kaus" and master this album. Keep coming for more updates!

Wilson's music is finally done!

After weeks of delay, Wilson's new music arrangement for JanjiCCB, Hanya Engkau and Sinar are finally completed. Yesterday, the promising bassist Benjoe had laid his own bass sounding to the track. It took us almost two hours to rec two songs. We'd changed some chording that sound great :D, thanks for that Ben. For your info, he is the final Music student at SIA and of course majoring in Bass. Take my word, he might become the great musician/composer in future.

"Tadau Suab Kakal Magandad", itu adalah tajuk album Jack Beech yang akan dilancarkan tidak lama lagi. Saya baru ja siap mastering 7 lagu. Album ini merupakan album yang ke-3 untuk beliau. Ia mengandungi 10 lagu dimana 3 adalah lagu lama (dia punya la) dan 7 lagu baru (ini yang kamiurang buat :D).

The Remake of Wilson/Joey

Lagu JanjiCCB, Hanya Engkau, dan Sinar telah dibuat semula mengikut susunan yang lebih mantap. Album Wilson featuring Joey FS sudahpun berada di pasaran sejak bulan July, walaupun begitu pemuzik-pemuzik kembali ke studio untuk "inject" new energy to the songs. Last friday, FND (pic) was in the studio to "fry" his guitar. New riffs been added to JanjiCCB and Hanya Engkau. These three songs are expected to be out in a middle of Nov.

Nora Law!

She is Nora Jones nope.. Nora Law orang Sabah bah!. She's great singer. If you're happened to go to Sutera Harbour (lounge), you'll not miss her. She's one of the singer there. For the past year, she had 'hired' me to arrange music for her. I'm just happy to help her, she's my 'langu'. That's in-law in lundayeh. Dalam dusun pun sama (don't know which is borrowing who).

Currently, I'm arranging "Back way into love" by Hugh Grant and Haley Bennett (sound track of Music and Lyric). She has a plan to do single but not sure when. Keep eyes on her ya!

The JKR is producing KADUS album! What is JKR? Is it Jabatan Kerja Raya? Hehehe ya sort of. Why sort of? It's not JKR project la coz I'm not getting money from them to semen jalan raya pigi kampung saya. Actually someone is sponsoring one of top head of JKR to sing 3 songs (that's the plan la). So, I composed 1 song and 2 songs by Apai. The songs given to them, and wallaa they changed their original plan and now wanted to produce full album. My task, compose another 3 songs for them. The rest of the songs will be at the hand of other maestros.

Salvation Army!

That's right, you'd heard me :D. Currently, A group from Salvation Army (SA) is having their hands busy producing couple of songs. Songs been written both in Bahasa and Dusun. The great Wellon Muyou is doing his best job as co-arrangger.

For now, it's 60% complete and we expected it to be fully polish by next week or two. The arrangement is old school plus new element of Samsons (hahaha). Alright, hino-hino poh yokoyu.

She captures your heart with her sweet voice. That's it. I'm not exaggerating but it's a fact. She had recorded 2 songs, however, she'd to stop for few months to pursue her study in Sarawak. Will be back again this December. Mmmm... so catch her up ya!

Group Delivered and Alive juga sedang giat dalam proses pembikinan debut album mereka. Ten songs have been arranged but they need some shine.

Who is Delivered and Alive? Well, they're coming from different churches but having the same vision. The vision that giving new life to lifeless :D. Wowwwww... bah, kamurang tunggu ja. It's expected to be out the first quarter of next year. Keep coming!

First news, sekarang ni Thomas Sugara sedang giat dalam proses pembikinan album yang terbaru. Ada 10 lagu yang ada sekarang dan 2 lagi dalam proses "penciptaan". Kali ini kebanyakkan lagu adalah dari pencipta dari luar (buat buatan sendiri la :D). Arrangement lagu sdh ada tapi kena polish lagi.

Welcome to new D(EQ) Production blogging site. I was dissappointed with the previous webhosting which not allowed me to host MP3s (they're saying it's violating rights, what?! it's my songs la).

So, I thought,I use freesite (like this one) lagi bagus. So I hope you guys will visit this site as often you do as you did to www.d-eq.com. Now the site is been lelong to the world. I don't want to buy it for now.
